Doorman

It's usually very difficult to get a shot of the Casino entrance without dozens of visitors to the Principality getting in the way. As I crossed Casino Square this morning - for one brief second only - the steps were empty. Not that the Square was empty - au contraire - opposite this entrance were dozens of people taking photographs of this doorman. I was just lucky to get the entrance from this angle.

As you go up and down the many different levels of Monaco, there are often escalators to help you on your way. I had my camera dangling from wrist this morning - got on an escalator, which suddenly - in the middle of going up - abruptly stopped! My camera swung and bashed into the side with one helluva bang. I wasn't a happy camper. Touch wood, it seems to be working okay. Long live Canon!

Thank heaven you didn't fall! I was going down one once when it stopped, and I kept my balance, unlike the lady in front of me.

Is there only one casino in MC?

Ooh, I hope your camera is ok too - don't want to do without our fix of the Riviera/Cote d'Azur!

The town you are thinking of is Grafton in northern NSW (hey - quite a drive, Hobart to cairns)

Every year they have a Jacaranda Festival

That was my comment deleted - accidentally repeated it.

Just thought I'd say, Grafton is near the town of Casino, which is nothing ike the casino in your picture. And not a casino in site!

It does style itself as The Beef Capital of Australia

I wonder if that doorman knows how famous he is? lol! :-D

I'm glad to read that both you and the camera are ok.

Yikes! I'm glad also you are both okay. I like this shot you captured. The entrance is very attractive and I like how clean it is also. I love the wood.

Thank you for visiting Seguin!

Yep, camera is working. Great Photo. I don't think I've ever seen such healthy looking banana palms. Thank goodness for escalators - I was wondering how on earth I was going to get around Monaco! I can walk but uphill is quite difficult for me (spine probs). Downhill is ok though!
