Chaos in the Principality

The flags for the Masters Series represent only part of the chaos in Monaco today. President Sarkozy of France flies in by helicopter at noon for lunch with Prince Albert, and will then visit the Oceanographic Museum, which is closed to the public all day. He leaves at 5.

Meanwhile, the tennis draws capacity crowds - Federer plays Nalbandian and Nadal plays Ferrer today. Go Raffa! And work continues throughout the Prinicipality for the Grand Prix in May.

It's virtually impossible to get in and out of Monaco - police have closed many of the roads for Sarkozy.

I had a vet's appointment in Cap d'Ail to get my dog's teeth cleaned - had to cancel. Beau doesn't mind! Think he's about the only person (whoops, dog) who doesn't.

I once met Sarko in Florida, a long time ago after he and Chirac had their falling out. I was a French-speaking tour guide at the time. Of course I had no idea who he was or who he would end up being.

Now I have a friend who works in his office. I used to work at Euro Disney in the communications dept. If you google Disney and Sarko, you'll see who it is.

Lovely colors - the sky, the flags, the poster, and the tennis ball. Is that post for the poster put up just for the tennis tournament? I like the tennis ball atop the pole, I haven't seen anything like that before.

Oh how I'd like to watch the Federer v Nalbandian match. I really enjoy tennis at the highest level.
That mountain is creating it's own weather Jilly. I bet they're giant cumulus clouds, n'est ce pas?

I would also appreciate any excuse for canceling a dentist's appointment... ;)

Greetings from Nashville!
I wanted to let you know I stopped by and have been enjoying your photos!

Please excuse that I'm cutting and pasting this comment, but since my right arm (my writing arm!) is still in a sling, typing is pretty difficult, so I really haven't been able to make comments.

Have a great weekend!
Chris

Those flags are so eye catching, the colours so rich and vibrant. When one's home town swells in numbers it's both exciting and a chore, depending on the visitors of course.

It is terrible when the city grinds to a halt whenever 'leaders' make their presence felt..
Hope you had a good day though!

I would pick tennis. Looks like y'all always have something going on. It must be a fun place to live.

I wish I had been part of the masses causing the chaos. LOL!

I'm hoping I'll get to Monte Carlo one year to watch this part of the series live.
