Peille

Sometimes it's nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of Monaco and take a short trip into the mountains.  So leave your Louboutins behind and let's spend a while exploring the magic that is Peille. The medieval village is 630 metres above sea level and only 25 kilometres from Monaco.

We'll walk its ancient streets on stones weathered by time, wind our way through vaulted passageways, have a coffee in a magical square and doubtless fall in love with this beautiful village.

The sign, as you enter the village, says 'Peille, the most curious village in the Alpes-Martimes.'

More tomorrow ...

Nice to see Peille! I remember going through Peille a couple of times as it is a shortcut from Monaco to the backcountry - on bicycle. That was in the 1980s when there was less traffic and cars were smaller than today.

The people living in the village must be very health from all that up hill walking. Looks like a good place to visit with a camera.

THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!
WHY IS IT THE "MOST CURIOUS" VILLAGE?!

I'm really hoping this isn't just a tourist board gimmick!
It better be something good, like the original "cat that was killed by curiousity" lived there or something!! Wikipedia didn't mention anything astonishingly curious, from what I could find.
