Japanese Garden - 3

The red bridge in the Japanese garden on Avenue Princesse Grace. You can glimpse the sea through the trees.

This is a reminder of Matsushima, Japan and all of the temples I have seen and photographed. And, more importantly, it is a reminder of our Japanese garden and the bridge I built to cross the pond with the island and the pine tree growing amid the rocks there. It was a long time ago. It attracted a lot of attention and was featured in newspaper stories. Now, however, the bridge is gone somwhere as it was given away, and the post was drained and the cement broken and buried and the pine tree probably became mulch. Everything that was there is gone except for a lichen encrusted Japanese stone lantern.

Those were the days when I was younger by thirty or forty years and could still do manual labor.

Trop mignon, ce petit pont. J'aime beaucoup ce jardin japonais. Il est très bien conçu.
