Hôtel de Paris - detail

A detail from the exterior of the beautiful Hôtel de Paris. The hotel, one of the grandest in the world, was built in 1864 by Dutrou. Opulent in decor and gracious in manner, this nineteenth century 'palace' has been home to royalty and the world's brightest luminaries. You can see more of the Hôtel de Paris by clicking on the link.

Looks like a very grand hotel!

I look forward to visiting your blog more often this 2008. And you're welcome to mine, too! For some reason, my link was not included in the participating blogs for the 1st of January 2008 theme day. Sorry I wasn't able to visit your blog sooner. I was in transit the whole of yesterday. I am now back in Norwich after the most fantabulous time at home in Manila.

Happy New Year to you and everyone you hold dear!

I stayed a the Paris Hotel this week. It was in Las Vegas though. I would trade it for a night in the Monte Carlo Vegas any day. I would love to have lunch on that patio.

{whistle} It's gorgeous, Jilly! Thanks so very much for responding to the question on my post about the mystery Hotel de Paris - much appreciated. As it turns out, Genie from Paris and Beyond knew it - on rue de Rivoli {now called Hotel Paris Rivoli}. Isn't the blogpal community awesome. :)
