The Jellyfish Net - 3

And here's how the jellyfish net appears when you are sitting on the beach - just a line across the water.  Presumably if people use the diving platform that you see beyond beyond the barrier, they'd wear wetsuits or risk getting stung.

Probably best to sit on the beach and look at the posh yachts on the horizon ...

I used to spend a lot of time on that beach some 30 years ago .. jellyfish were rare, and of course there was no such net.
However, the sunbathing platform ("le radeau") is firmly anchored outside the net, and in your lower picture can be seen a courageous swimmer next to it.
In the 20th century jellyfish only appeared after days with offshore winds - today they are more frequent?!?
Or is it too much asked for from often not-french-speaking tourists to be a little vigilant and look out for stingy creatures in the sea?
