Theme Day: When people think of my city...

There are so many iconic images of Monte Carlo: the port with its luxury yachts, the casino, the Hôtel de Paris and the Monaco Grand Prix but probably it was Princess Grace - the beautiful American actress, Grace Kelly, who married Monaco's Prince Rainier - who really put it on the map.

Today is Theme Day with 136 participants from all over the world taking part. Do take time to visit them and see what other bloggers think is considered iconic about their cities.

It's a beautiful place. On my only visit so far Stephanie had just released her record. Which I still have.

She was America's princess too! I love all her movies, but I think my favorite is "High Noon."

You forgot to mention Jilly!

Jilly reminds me of Monte Carlo! :-)

I would have to agree on this choice. I still have the postage stamps of their wedding! How awesome was that. Every little girl in the world knew with that marriage that "dreams can come true"!

She was such a beautiful woman, wasn't she? I think you hit it on the head!

Susan said...

But of course! Every girl's dream, to marry a Prince and live in a beautiful kingdom. Happy Theme Day!

My wife would have thought of Princess Grace while I would have thought of the Monaco Grand Prix first.

Any of your choices would have been great but Princess Grace truly is extraordinary.

Ahh what a surprise for me! :)

After Wednesday's post I thought for sure you were going to show us something from the Grand Prix.

But you are quite right. Princess Grace really is probably who I think of when I think of Monaco.

good choice! she was very beautiful, and i assume still popular there?

i too think of Grace Kelly. As a matter of fact, we just watchd teh movie, "To Catch a Theif" last week. Wat could be better than a Cary Grant movie with Grace Kelly? A Cary Grant movie with Grace Kelly filmed near Monaco.

Princess Grace....that says it all....nice photo.

I think you chose best of best from the topic. I normally say Monaco GP as a fan of race, but this is better.

Somehow when I think of Manaco it is luxuary yachts and the Grand Prix. But Princess Grace will do very well - she also makes me think of the movie High Noon, where she starred with Gary Cooper.

Mo said...

Exactly what I think of! She was very lovely.
