Princess Grace Rose Garden - 2

Let's get away from the chaos of Grand Prix preparations and take a walk in the Princess Grace Memorial garden. It's the right time of year now - the roses are blooming and not a marked leaf or a greenfly in sight. This is just one corner. I'll show more another day.

A peaceful oasis...
Do you pay to get in? Does it smell as nice as it looks?

My rose bushes are blooming too, but I have many greenflies... Never mind!

Isabella, no charge to enter the gardens. I think they close the gates at dusk tho.

I did sniff a few but didn't smell much but that's probably my sense of smell.

And Alice, the reason there are no bugs or rust on the roses is that I noticed at least four men working there. They wouldn't have a chance! The bugs, not the men.

Rose gardens are peaceful areas for a stroll. This one is well-tended and beautiful.

Probably modern hybrids without much aroma, alas. Older varieties with more scent are less prolific bloomers, so I guess not so popular with garden designers?
