A Monte Carlo Summer - the Bathrobe

No, you don't often see a gentleman walking about Monte Carlo in a bathrobe. He's probably been to the Thermes Marin de Monte Carlo - the Monte Carlo Spa - which is a fabulous gym/pool/everything for health and well-being - and is connected to the Hotel Hermitage, and I think, to the Hotel de Paris too, by an underground tunnel. He is about to cross the road at the level crossing you see to his left - this would lead to the Hermitage. So doubtless he decided to take the above-street route today.

Now that's a man with a lot of self confidence, but I hate to tell him how silly he looks strolling down the street in his slippers and robe! HA

I saw a man wearing a robe walking down the A1A beach sidewalk in my town. I knew he had likely come from the Ritz en route to the ocean, but he looked so odd in the midst of tacky beach shops and outdoor eateries. Sadly, I did not have my camera with me. Glad you did!

Fun!

Makes me think of my grandmother. She had a house right near the beach in Brittany and when she went down to the beach for her daily swim she would always put on a bathrobe: She thought her thighs didn't deserve showing. As soon as she was finished swimming she would don on her bathrobe again and walk home.

I never saw my grandfather at the beach though. I suspect he was too prude to show himself in swimmers.

I like that he's also wearing those cheap-o slippers they give you in hotels too! I'd be so embarassed to walk around like that. Especially in France!!!

That is definitely as we would say in the UK now "CHAVY."

I'm surprised that there wasn't a Rolls Royce, or at least a little buggy to take him back. Fancy having to walk. How common!
