Life in the Wall

This plant grows out of the wall overlooking Fontvieille and its harbour - taken from a slightly different place to yesterday's wide shot. Plants can live in almost nothing...

It is amazing how wildflowers need so little real estate under-root to thrive, isn't it? Lovely!!

I'm always amazed at how nature decorates the landscape both nature made and man made.

Cropped a tiny bit too short on the left. I remember reading a "don't crop yourself short" post on DPS (Digital Photography School) saying we should always give ourselves a bit of scope for cropping as needed. Made me realise I could use the advice myself.

Great photo anyway with the blurry yachts in the background!

I didn't crop it at all, Nathalie. That's how I framed it. I can see I should have allowed a little more to the left. Never mind, I still quite like it even tho it's not right. Tomorrow you'll see another shot - a wide shot of the same scene that includes this plant.

Gorgeous and the DOF is perfect. Nathalie has helped me a lot with the too tight shots. She pointed them out so nicely and now I hear her sweet French voice in my ear most of the time. Sometimes I forget! HA We all learn from each other. This one is perfect for me because the flowers are so very sharp and nice, the light is good and the icing on the "cake" is the view of the water and the boat. Bravo!
