The Balcony

Place d'Armes - beautiful ironwork, faded shutters, the silhouette of a cigarette inside - and young eyes glued to the world beyond the balcony.

What a fascinating capture this photograph is. I wonder what is it the little one has in his hand pressed to his lips?

This photo can win you awards, I am sure of that.

Excellent photograph. You framed it perfectly. There are so many interesting textures, colors, and the silhouette of the cigarette is the icing on the cake. I especially love the ironwork. Bravo, Jilly!

I like the look and "feel" of all the different textures in the photo.

Personally I think the child detracts from the mystery of the scene. who is the shadowy figure with the cigarette?

Damn that's a good photograph. The cigarette shadow is wonderful. From this point of view, we could imagine that the ironwork blocks the child's vision like a mask, making him or her even more isolated.
