A Monte Carlo Summer - Le Louis XV

One day I'm going to rob a bank and eat here...

Alain Ducasse's Le Louis XV restaurant in the Hôtel de Paris on Casino Square is Monaco's most famous restaurant - 3 Michelin Stars. Mortgage your house to eat there. Drool, drool....

Click on the link and take the virtual tour. Don't forget the ceiling.

I'm told they have a camera hidden in the ceiling above each table so the waiters can see (from afar) when service is needed and the chefs know when to start preparing the next course. And anyway, don't you just hate a hovering waiter?

Oh Jilly, I just love it when you sneak us in these places. Now is that a waiter? Awfully dressed up. I can just see us sitting on that lovely terrace enjoying lunch. I thought you were going to say that the hidden cameras were there to prevent CDP bloggers from secretly taking pictures!HA Puhleeze give us more photos of this ever so chic establishment.

If we come many CDPBloggers together, don't you think they could make a good price? This young man seems to be kind enough...! ;-)))

What a restaurant! The ceiling is magnificent. I suppose given the type of restaurant the prices are not that bad -- but I was wondering if they have a cheaper lunch menu. The only thing that was somewhat in my price range has sweatbreads in it, and I'm not sure I want to try that for a first time in such a fancy restaurant.

Yes, that young man seems to have taken a shine to you, Jilly. Work your magic...

Whoa, Nelly! I just got a good look at that room. It just leads me into my usual, overactive imagination. Making all the fantasy disclaimers, etc., who would I most want to have a sunset dinner with at this place... Say I was soooo charming, [somebody] just casually said, "let me take you to dinner..." and all that expense and anxiety was taken care of without a blink. Hmmm..... Jude Law? Tony Bennett? George Clooney? Yo-Yo Ma? Charlie Rose? Lance Armstrong? I know, American-centric....

Yes, you have taken us right into the heart this famous restaurant, Jilly. Bravo! The waiter does have his eye on you.

US Elaine...I'd dine with Tony Bennett. It would be a two-fer...you know music and a meal.

I used the work in re-insurance years ago for many years and the yearly worldwide meeting amongst Reinsurance companies was always in Montecarlo in September and my management would put us up in the Hotel de Paris for one week during those years. Lucky me...:)

He may have left his heart in San Francisco, but I bet Tony Bennett could find it again in a place like this. I would dine with him in a heartbeat. I want to be there. Thanks for giving us "stay at homers" a chance to roam. I remain deep in the hot hills of Texas.

Mr. Ducasse opened a restaurant here in NYC a couple years ago and it didn't do well. It closed after a couple of years.

Haute cuisine, especially french food have fallen out of favor in NYC. Italian or rustic Italian cuisines are doing extremely well here.

I think that I could tolerate a hovering waiter if I could eat there. I wonder if I could maintain a casual demeanor in such an opulent environment?

Jilly, WOW!!!!! That place looks awesome! The flowers are gorgeous and yup. Looks like I'd have to take out a mortgage to be able to even eat the cheapest salad (68 €) there! I hope the food is really orgasmic! LOL.

I think though that if I did come for a visit I'd go in and just have dessert and coffee one day. Just for the experience of being in there ;-)
