Theme Day: Lines

Lines of light show the Basse Corniche (lower cliff road) and the Moyenne Corniche (middle cliff road) from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin to Monaco. There are four roads that run along the coast here - the Basse, the Moyenne, the Grande and above the three, the Autoroute. You can see le rocher (rock) of Monaco and Port Hercule in the distance. Photo taken from the medieval hill village of Roquebrune as night was falling.

Gorgeous, Jilly. And amazing how much it looks like our Southern California coastline driving toward Malibu from Santa Monica.

Oh this is so beautiful I can't express myself without being corny. Jilly, this is one of your very best photos I can remember and you have had a heck of a lot of magnificent ones. Bravo mon amie.

You've managed to pour a layer of glamor over an already glamorous place. Perfect eye-candy. 8^)

I like your choice. Follow the lines, you never know where you may end up.

One to hang on the wall? I can see that you planned this long in advance, visiting all the sites to place the illuminations just where you need to enhance the features.

A very nice picture, J. (and I was amazed when you told me it is hand held without a tripod. Is champagne so effective?).

Hi Jilly, I'm so please you had a look at the Cairns lagoon pics; I'm going to do a separate blog of our week up here, so I'll let you know the url - lots of memories....I'll try to get a pic of Trinity Beach.

Cairns seems so different to how people tell me it was (boring, basically, and just a staging post for other places - now there's a reason to be here).

Piero and Ben have gone on an inlet cruise to a croc farm today. I can't bear the things at all, so glad they are doing it while I am conferencing (I've just bunked off for a bit!)

I walked a long way along the boardwalk this morning, and will show you pics of that on the new blog. Amazing. A huge skate park with not a scap of graffiti. Well used (and well maintained bbq's all the way along. Anyway, I'll shut up now and let the pics speak when i get them up. Pity noone does a Cairns DP!

I reckon it could be a nice place to live except during The Wet. I think from about mid-Oct I'd want to be out of here - too much humidity does me in! And going in and out of aircon and humidity not good for sinuses etc. I prefer drier heat.
