Homeward Bound


Time to leave le rocher - one last look at the battlements - just below Fort Antoine - as we walk down towards the car park. In the distance you see Cap Martin and beyond that, Italy.

What is so particulary noteable about the ramparts of Monaco is that way way over accross the "other" side of the world, there is a country whom in their history had built ramparts as well. Remarkably enough it is uncannily similar to the ramparts here in Monaco.
When you really think about it it's not too surprising because in the era's when ramparts were necessary; it stands to reason they all had to be built with similiar qualities and looks!! Go, figure. !!!
so, for us the pics of the ramparts always remind us of those at that country as well.
