90 Years of Citroën - the Parade

There I was in Casino Square - a dull day, cloud hanging low over the mountains, not the best of days to take photographs when suddenly, along came the Citroëns...

So, come with me and over the next days, we'll journey back into the history of this great car and celebrate its 90th anniversary with a parade.

Did you happen to see Kimi Räikkönen sitting in any Citroen ;- P ? Maybe not, but this is a nice rally car, from Paris- Dakar rally I believe.

P.S. I noticed you are an early bird, Jilly. Posting ready at such early time in the morning!

No, didn't see him, Pasi but lots more good things to come - wait till tomorrow and tomorrow...

Sometimes I post in advance with the time set up for it, but yes, normally I'm up very early with the dogs. At the moment, Beau, my Bruno du Jura needs a lot of attention because he had major surgery last Thursday and I need to clean the wound 4 times a day. He had the middle/inner ear removed cos it was full of pus - an abscess, poor dog. Very invasive operation. Fingers crossed but so far so good. I know you love dogs so thought I'd tell you!

I had no idea the Citroen had such a long history. Is that 90 years all about automobile manufacturing, or perhaps like Piaggio who began with ships, then railway, then aircraft and finally the Vespa.

I will look forward to the remainder of this series. Citroen has not penetrated the North American market as much as other European cars, so we are not as familiar with them over here.

There's a mixed reaction to Citroen's for some reason. I sit on the fence when it comes to the brand. Hopefully there's a DS in black amongst the rally.

I hope our Beau is improving. I had a little minor toe surgery today so I'm trés sympathetic.

First time I post a comment on any blog! I've always been fascinated by Citroen the man, the make, the cars....unfortunately, leaving here in the USA it is amazing how many people are not even familiar with the name Citroen, let alone the cars and the exploits along the decades! I own 2 2cv, 1 traction. good job on the pictures, merci! Dominique
