The Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris

The Salle Empire is a stunningly beautiful banqueting room in the Hôtel de Paris, used, as you see here, for functions. The terrace overlooks the Place du Casino.

I think these guests were rather enjoying being looked at and photographed by the crowd outside. Perhaps a British gathering as I thought I heard a few Brit accents.

I have heard so much, lately, about the British system of government and how the members of that government are using their offices to swindle extra money from the people and call it "expenses."

I realize the story we get is probably rich in adjectives but still, who would have thought something like this could ever happen over there. Not me. Are any of these in your photo members of that Parliament?

Tres chic! I like the black and white photos - it adds to the black tie atmosphere.

Abe it's all true, and shameful. Just love that top shot in b&w. You and people really click.

Why would they be? Monaco has thousands of British residents. The British are the 3rd largest nationality after French & Italians in Monaco.

"who would have thought something like this could ever happen over there"

Claiming expenses for everything? It's something that can happen everywhere if the system is setup in a way that makes it easy to do such a thing.

Who would have thought the US would still be using rendition & torture in the 21st century & not allowing the records to be made public?

I really like the photos in b&w. In their attire the photos could have been taken anytime.

Looks like the wine is running quite freely. I wonder what the occasion is, and how many have boats moored on the front?

Bonjour! I haven't seen any pics of Princess Stephanie or the royal palace? What's up with the royal family or do I have to look to "Paris Match?" Greetings from a new City Daily Photo blogger in Eagan, Minnesota, USA Depechez vous!
