Theme Day: Empty

An 'empty' cycling jersey or maillot for today's 'Theme Day.'

The most famous cycle race in the world, the Tour de France, departs next Sunday from Monaco, with a Time Trial the day before. Whilst the Tour has passed through Monaco on occasion, it has never started here - a great honour for the Principality.

To honour the Tour, there are sculptures throughout Monte Carlo. Here we see the maillots by Héléna Krajewicz. These cycling shirts have been soaked in epoxy resine and are part of the current exhibition in Rue Princesse Caroline and Square Gastaud.

I'll be watching every face in the crowd to see if I can spot you!

My timing is terrible this year, we don't arrive in Paris until the week AFTER the tour finishes! That's three times we've been late......

Jilly, this is by far THE most perfect theme day post ever. The start of the Tour de France in your city, the amazing empty jersey, it's theme day, the planets have all lined up, AND you've taken a excellent shot. Bravo and three cheers. If we had a trophy, you'd be holding it right now.

Very creative and timely interpretation of the "empty" theme. Thank you for your comment about my empty crocodile mouth.

I love your theme day entry! How original!! Those colorful jersies look nice up there. I guess someone in Monaco is the official washerwoman of the TdF? :)

Jilly I think this is the coolest entry anyone could come up with for today's theme! As far as I'm concerned, First Prize to you!

Oh my gosh - that is very clever and colorful and whimsical. I think it's the happiest empty today.

The small picture looks almost surreal, is a magnificent street art and a perfect choice for the theme! You are so lucky, a few days ago, The Grand Prix and next sunday the Tour de France!

The tour starts!

I shall be watching on tv! Always feel a little guilty tucked up in bed while they are riding so hard but i manage to live with it somehow!

Nice choice for the monthly theme day!

Love watching the Tour on TV - the visuals are just stunning! Isn't a maillot also a one-piece swimsuit?
